ADDIS ABABA, Ethiopia, April 1, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — On March 27, GAC held a special event in Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia, to officially unveil the GAC JUNTU Flagship Showroom and launch four brand-new flagship pure electric models in the Ethiopian market, announcing its entry into Ethiopia’s new energy vehicle market.

As a core leading enterprise in China’s new energy vehicle industry, GAC has deeply cultivated independent R&D and manufacturing of three-electric core technologies, with products exported to more than 86 countries and regions around the world and a wealth of global layout experience. The four pure electric models unveiled in the Ethiopian market this time cover AION UT, SUV AION V HOME, SUV HYPTEC HT, and SUV HYPTEC HL, forming a comprehensive product matrix that perfectly adapts to diverse scenarios and fully meets the mobility needs of different customer groups in Ethiopia.

The GAC JUNTU Flagship Showroom, which opened grandly, covers a total area of 2,300 square meters and is currently the most high-end and advanced new energy vehicle experiential exhibition hall in Ethiopia. The showroom is equipped with Ethiopia’s first professional after-sales workshop with leading comprehensive strength and complete standards, and a 4S-level full-chain sales and after-sales service system. It not only provides local consumers with professional car purchase consultation and product experience, but also provides thoughtful services such as home test drives to ensure an all-round vehicle usage experience. GAC also announced plans to launch an exclusive mobile application in the coming years to create intelligent vehicle management services for users via mobile phones, empowering the local vehicle usage experience with digitalization.

GAC’s entry into the Ethiopian market represents not only a strong step in bringing China’s advanced new energy vehicle technology and quality to the global stage, but also a meaningful example of China–Ethiopia collaboration in the green economy. Looking forward, GAC will continue to rely on its core technological advantages and global operation experience to bring local consumers a worry‑free pure electric mobility experience with high‑quality products and services, supporting Ethiopia in opening a new chapter of green mobility.

South Korea inflation quickens to 3.1% as costs climb

    September 3, 2026

Fuel costs remained a major source of price pressure during the month. Petroleum product prices climbed 14.2% from a year earlier, though the increase slowed from July. Diesel prices jumped 19.6%, while gasoline prices rose 11.5%. Petroleum products added 0.54 percentage point to annual consumer price growth. Mobile phone service charges also recorded a sharp annual increase. Mobile service prices rose 26.7% from August 2025, reflecting an unusually low comparison base. SK Telecom had offered large discounts for one month last year following a data breach. Government calculations showed headline inflation would have been about 2.5% without that mobile service effect. The temporary comparison factor therefore accounted for a significant share of August’s annual increase.
